Jennifer S. Aaron, DPT, ATC

Jennifer Aaron, DPT, ATC, graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a concentration of Athletic Training. She has worked with men's and women's sports both at the collegiate and high school levels, and also volunteered for the local rescue squad during her undergraduate education. Jennifer attended graduate school at Old Dominion University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and has since been working at Tuckahoe Physical Therapy.

As a former student of ballet, member of her high school dance team, and recreational softball player, Jennifer takes special interest in dancers and the athletic population. She is certified by the Pilates Certification Center as a Pilates Mat Level 1 instructor and is teaching individual classes to the patient and well populations. Professional memberships include the American Physical Therapy Association, the Virginia Physical Therapy Association, and the National Athletic Training Association. Jennifer and her husband Jim live in the West End with their two dogs and enjoy working out and playing tennis at the Westwood Club.

Dave Bass, DPT

Dave Bass, DPT completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Virginia Tech, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been with Tuckahoe Physical Therapy since 2001, specializing in shoulder, knee and elbow rehabilitation, with extensive continuing education on prevention and treatment of these injuries. A three-sport athlete in high school, Dave competed in soccer, wrestling and lacrosse, and later was a volunteer assistant wrestling coach for Blacksburg High School. His enthusiasm and knowledge of sports and weight lifting allow him to relate to the amateur or elite athlete and weekend warrior alike.

An avid golfer, Dave has recently been certified by Back to Golf, a well respected method of analyzing the biomechanics of the golf swing to achieve the most efficient golf swing for your body. Programs focus on maximizing power while minimizing the stress to the body that can lead to pain or injury.

Jim Miller, DPT

Jim Miller, DPT graduated from University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and later earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University - Medical College of Virginia. Since that time he has practiced in an outpatient orthopedic setting. As an adjunct professor, Jim has taught human anatomy at Virginia Commonwealth University and now takes students from VCU-MCV's physical therapy program as part of their clinical education. Additionally, he has completed a long term continuing education series in manual therapy techniques with an emphasis on treating the spine. He is also interested in dysfunctions of the foot and ankle and has taken continuing education to further progress his experience with this region.

During part of his time at University of Richmond, Jim ran cross country competitively and later turned to cycling, racing both road and mountain bikes. He has taken these interests and particularly enjoys working with injured endurance athletes of all levels and provides bike-fitting services as well as video gait analysis for both patients and uninjured clients. He frequently speaks with cycling and triathlon groups regarding common injuries, gait mechanics and fit-related issues on the bike.

Joe Sutter, MS PT

Joe Sutter, MS PT, is the founder and president of Tuckahoe Physical Therapy. He obtained his BA from Indiana University and his MS in physical therapy degree from Duke University. He began his physical therapy practice in Richmond, VA in 1981 after playing professional basketball in Europe, and his career has involved many roles as a clinician, administrator, educator, author, and researcher. He has presented over 150 professional educational topics and has held clinical faculty positions at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.

He has published chapters in test books and articles in orthopedic and sports journals with an emphasis on shoulder rehabilitation. He has also been an active member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association including current memberships in the orthopedic sports, and private practice sections. Joe's interests outside of physical therapy include music, fishing, tai chi, gardening and traveling.
